Deathrippers
Here are my two Deathrippers from the Cryx Battlegroup Box. I have added a fair amount of oil paint to their joints and rivets as well as finishing their bases. I'm really liking the subtle effect that oil paints are adding. They just seem a bit more grimy, less shiny and new, less fresh off the production line. I may have to try and add some 'chipped paint' type effects on the hard edges.

Re-finished Pistol Wraith
Loving the way this guy turned out now. I have added more highlight, front arc, moss and some touch-ups. I'm probably going to go through all of my previous Cryx minis before I get too far on some of the stuff I have half-painted. Also, photos in the sunlight make a big difference.
Re-finished Bile Thralls
More love for the Bile Thralls. I fixed up their bases with front arcs and moss. I also mixed up some burnt umber and black oil paint and thinned it with white spirits. I took that mixture and spread it around the cracks of the metal parts and along the seams of their collars. After it dried up a bit I tried to streak it with my paintbrush. It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it too but I still think it looks better than it did before. It's more grimy/oily looking now, which I like.

Re-finished Bane Thralls with Tartarus
Hello everyone, I've been saying that I would go back and add highlights to some of my stuff. I have the first batch of re-finished minis done and photos taken. Here they are. I would like to put some 'before and after' photos together but I don't think it's all that necessary. And in addition to re-finishing a lot of guys I also finished up my last four Bane thralls, so I have a full unit now. I decided to go ahead and two-tone my bases so that the front arcs are clearly visible, and added some moss here and there to add more contrast.

Pistol Wraith
Here we have one of the pistol wraith models for Cryx. I was hoping to paint up both versions for this post but I just never got around to ordering the other one. Perhaps it'll be one of the next models I order. That aside I think this to be the better of the two. I see that I could add more highlight to this guys clothing, other than that it was the fastest painted Cryx model yet. I think it took less than an hour. I have a pretty solid method for painting bone, the rest was just blacks and greys with some wood and metal. Very simple.
I am considering adding some vegetation to my bases. The whole lifeless wasteland look is getting a little too drab. At first I thought it looked pretty nice but now when I look at it I just think it looks lazy. I have some "dead grass" static grass I'm considering using. Not sure if I should go with it since it is yellow, or maybe use some green static grass for a more slimy green sludge-type look. It might go better with the toxic pools I have on some of the other bases. Not really set on what to use yet and completely open to suggestions. Help me out here.

Scavenger
Another light jack for my Cryx army. And it truly is becoming an army. I've collected almost the entire range of Cryx models now, lots of painting in the future. My goal is to complete enough stuff to use a couple lists at the hardcore tournament this coming Lock n' Load. As far as I've been told hardcore only really means "fully painted". So we'll see, I am a pretty slow painter but I may be able to do it.
This is the Scavenger for Cryx. I decided to break my trend of using P3 Cryx Bane Base as the base color for the body and went with Citadel Chaos Black instead. I think it turned out nice, but I like the dark green a little bit better. I dislike stripping models when not completely necessary so I'll be keeping this one black. Think I'll have to add a couple more black jacks to the army to add a sense of uniformity. Perhaps I'll start adding more black components to my mostly dark green models. Or maybe I'll just go back to using dark green and this little guy will be different than the rest. I haven't really decided yet. Let me know what you think!

Necrosurgeon and Stitch Thralls
A bit of a quick update here. The Necrosurgeon and some stitch thralls to accompany her. These guys were real quick to paint, as you can tell by the photo they are quite basic models. As far as gameplay is concerned, these guys go great with mechanithralls as they can gather corpses and create fresh mechanithralls. They can also perform a healing action on a model in base contact.
